Update on Helping The Nuns at Tyburn

Dear Friends & Benefactors,

Thank you for your support and interest in our heating and hot water situation.

As many of you are interested in the progress, I would like to give you an update:

We have, thanks to your generosity, raised to date about £116 000 out of the £144 000 needed, therefore leaving £28 000 more to be raised. We have started the works by putting in a new gas connection which required digging in the bus lane – that is by workmen . . . not the Nuns!!

After the new connection was ready, our trusty plumbers have started put in a very large pipe to transport the gas from under the road to the other side of the Convent where the 2 boilers have just been installed.

Just two weeks ago we were all very happy and excited to have the heating ready and working for the Infirmary Wing & all of us were relieved- especially the Laundry Sister- to have hot water working in the laundry after over a year without!

We have asked our plumbers to install what they can out of the money raised so far, so we are now asking you to help us to finish . . . hopefully before the end of Winter!

Please could you forward this email on to anyone you know who might be able to help us to finish, and hopefully in turn they will forward it on . . .  and on. . . and on!!!! You are welcome to put it on your Facebook too to spread the message!

PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHMENT.

With our deep gratitude for your help, generosity, support, and interest.

Please be assured of our grateful remembrance of you in our prayers before the Blessed Sacrament.

May God bless you.

Yours in the Sacred Heart,

Mother Marie Joseph, O.S.B.

  1. Thank you, Jay…It is amazing how long they have gone without central heating and regular hot water…imagine doing washing with cold water in England…
