Happy Birthday, Mary!

Happy Birthday, Mary the Mother Of God, His mother and Mother of us all.

Our hearts are filled with joy as we come to understand the great humility and sanctity with which you served God by becoming His mother.

“Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel,” which means “God is with us.” (Matthew 1:23)

Archangel Gabriel proclaimed your sanctity for all humanity to hear.

And the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. (Luke 1:28)

Filled with the Holy Spirit you conceived our Savior.

Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. (Luke 1:31)

In your womb you carried the King of Kings and proclaimed God’s glory:

The Canticle of Mary. And Mary said:

“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;

my spirit rejoices in God my savior.

For he has looked upon his handmaid’s lowliness;

behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed.

The Mighty One has done great things for me,

and holy is his name.

His mercy is from age to age

to those who fear him.

He has shown might with his arm,

dispersed the arrogant of mind and heart.

He has thrown down the rulers from their thrones

but lifted up the lowly.

The hungry he has filled with good things;

the rich he has sent away empty.

He has helped Israel his servant,

remembering his mercy,

according to his promise to our fathers,

to Abraham and to his descendants forever.”

(Luke 1:46-55)

Your Son, Your Savior, Our Redeemer was obedient to you as His mother.

He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them; and his mother kept all these things in her heart. (Luke 2:51)

His mother said to the servers, “Do whatever he tells you.” (John 2:5)

You are our our Queen and Guide to your Son.

A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was with child and wailed aloud in pain as she labored to give birth. (Revelation 12:1-2)

Help us love your Son as you did.

May our hearts proclaim your glory, united to your Son, our God, in all our actions and desires.

In your name we pray,

Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.

Holy Mary Mother of God,

pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death

JMJ, pray for us.

God is good,
