The Intersection of Changing Doctrine and the Current Scandal in the Catholic Church

The many recent scandals and the ongoing realisation that homosexual, Ephebophilia and pedophilia activity has been revealed in the Vatican itself, leads one to understand that the problem is not merely passionate, sensual, Neo-pagan sins, but the attempt to overturn doctrine.

Just as in abortion, the real sin is the hidden one of killing an unbaptised baby who will never be part of the Beatific Vision, murdered before being inducted into that filial relationship with God the Father and having Original Sin wiped from the soul, so too, the greatest danger of these multiple scandals is the spiritual damage.

This spiritual damage is not merely the attack on the faith of millions of Catholics, or the endangerment of the holdings of the institution of the Church, created by Christ, while on earth. More sinister is the attempt to change the Church’s teaching on the disorder which is homosexuality.

This phrase in the CCC puts all these efforts to infiltrate the Church, as satan planned, into perspective.

Here is the section from the CCC to which I refer:

Chastity and homosexuality

2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between  women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward  persons of the same sex. It has takena great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained.  Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity,140 tradition has always declared that “homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.”141 They are contrary to the natural law. They closet he sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. They do not choose their homosexual condition; for most of them it is a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.

Sadly, those engaging in such disordered actions want to change the doctrine so that their activities are not longer considered seriously sinful.

As we know, chastity and in most cases, complete celibacy, are the only means to spiritual life in the Church for those who are plagued with same-sex-attraction.

Those who engage in such activities want to change this entire centuries old understanding of active sexual, from that belonging in marriage between heterosexual couples, to anything goes.

That we know one wild party in the Vatican was broken up years ago, and now the latest news concerning one of Pope Francis’ closest secretaries, indicates the depth of the problem, right to the top of the hierarchy of the Church. It is not, however, only the sinfulness of these men which are wreaking havoc, but the attempt to change what God ordained not only in the Old Testament, but in the New, when the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity made clear this idea of holiness interiorly, not merely exteriorly:

Matthew 5:17-20

17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets; I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter,[ not one stroke of a letter, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. 19 Therefore, whoever breaks[b] one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

To put it simply, the interior workings of the Church have been scandalised, by those who are pushing for a change in the age-old view of homosexual activities.

And, there will come a time when Christians of all denominations who understand Christ’s words and those of the Church will be persecuted, not only for allowing pedophilia and the horrible cover-ups, but for not allowing homosexual activity among the clergy.

These past few weeks reveal the war on the Church from within the Church which will lead to war on the Church from without the Church. However, we can be assured that doctrine will not change, nor guidelines for helping those who want to be healed of ssa.

Indeed, psychologists tell me that some of their patients who desire to leave the gay lifestyle speak of themselves as wounded, calling sea “the wound.”

To force the Church to depart from this truth is what all this activity is all about as well as the selfish engaging in passion and riot.

All of us are called to holiness, no matter what our predominant faults and lack of healing. All of us are called to be saints.

Suffering is key to saintliness, not the attempt to change that bar of suffering to make it easier to sin.

I took a superb Dante class in graduate school long ago. One of the levels of hell in the Inferno is set aside for active homosexuals, who must run forever across a fiery plain, never resting, experiencing pain. Fourteen years ago, an author in the New Oxford Review wrote this about Dante’s choice to put the sodomites in a lower level than murderers.

Dante finds the sodomites at the bottom of the seventh circle, a circle that contains three rings. Again, his geography is very revealing. In the top ring of the seventh circle are those who killed for gain, whether in empire-building or in robbing travelers on the highway. Appropriately enough, mass murderers such as Alexander are up to their eyebrows in boiling blood, while common robbers are only ankle deep. Below them in the second ring are those who committed suicide because they lost money, reputation, or status. They are below the homicides, because they willfully violated the law of self-preservation, an even more basic law of Nature than love of neighbour. Since they set a lower value on their life than on worldly additions to it, they are now deprived of their human form and reduced to thorny trees oppressed by nightmarish Harpies.

But Dante places sodomy in the bottom-most ring of the seventh circle, below homicide and suicide, suggesting that this sin is an even worse form of violence. The implication here is that sodomy involves an even more thoroughgoing hostility to Nature than defying the laws of self-preservation or love of neighbour; that it is a culmination of violence in being destructive to neighbor, violating self-love, and at the same time undermining family and community. Note that the suicides in the first ring damned themselves alone, while the sodomites damned themselves with others. Therefore, sodomites must run in a band forever on the burning plain. The burning sands on which they run represent their sterility. With this detail Dante shows that the intimacies of sodomy lead to a lack of posterity and put an end to one’s family line. The sodomites, as represented by Dante’s friend Brunetto Latini, chose continuity through fame, not through children. Brunetto points out that the men in his company were all famous scholars and literary celebrities who raised themselves in the eyes of the world by their talents while they dragged one another down into Hell. Thus, they sum up the previous rings: They were violent both to others and themselves in that they destroyed their own souls and that of one another, and they were violent to family life by their choice of sterility.

The violence to the soul is worse than violence to the body.

Let me quote Our Lord and Saviour again. From Matthew 10:28:

Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

If pedophilia and Ephebophilia were not involved, the governments would not pursue RICO. That homosexuality is involved may or may not be addressed by civil authorities, only when the victims were underage. Watch where these investigations proceed. As many know, I am against RICO investigations. However, the words of Christ ring out loud and clear—fear those who can send you to hell.
