Nicholas Gilroy Our Lady and The Guardian
I recently had the pleasure of reading Nicholas Gilroy Our Lady and the Guardian by Fr. Stephen Gemme and Deacon George. The story tells the tail of a young seminarian’s first year in high school. During the year he encounters personal challenges like most young men in their freshman year. Challenges to make friends, fit in and grow in their faith. These challenges bring him to a crossroads which both tests his faith and puts his life at risk.
The authors do an excellent job of drawing the reader into the story as it builds toward its climax. I found myself looking forward to the next chapter throughout the book. The book is easy to read and would be a great addition to all Catholic middle school libraries. I would also recommend the book to parent and grandparents hoping to foster vocations to the religious life.
God is good.
