The Roaring Lion

This verse has been impressed on my heart as of late.

Repeated over and over in the quiet of the cell of my soul.

At its inner recesses I can hear Him calling.

Quietly calling.

He calls all of humanity.

Be sober and vigilant. Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for [someone] to devour. Resist him, steadfast in faith, knowing that your fellow believers throughout the world undergo the same sufferings. (1 Peter 5:8-9)

The little evil one seems on the verge of devouring as many souls as he can get. Do not fall into violent rages.

The world rages around us as the storm furiously tears apart friendships, families and breaks hearts. The little evil one celebrates and Christ's heart is pierced.

Christ is our healing light.

Be the light of Christ.

Remain calm.

Do not succumb to the little evil one's temptations.

Christ can and will lift us out of our suffering through His redemptive cross.

His victory has been won.

Lent is coming.

A time of quiet reflection approaches.

Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

Have hope!

God is good!

JMJ, pray for us,

  1. There is another lion! The Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David has conquered, Allelulia! Also we say this verse up above from Peter at Compline, the last hour of the day in the M.D. I am an Oblate on the outside.
